CBF confirms Brazil vs. Chile as last home game before World Cup

The Brazilian National Team will play its final match on home soil before the 2026 World Cup this Thursday (04), against Chile at Maracanã. The confirmation came from CBF president Samir Xaud during a press conference at Granja Comary.

Brazil’s Last Match in the Country

Xaud surprised reporters by announcing that the Seleção will conduct its remaining World Cup preparations abroad, taking part in international tours during FIFA Dates.

“This will be our last game in Brazil before the World Cup. The atmosphere is very good, and everyone is happy with the work being done,” Xaud said.

Friendlies Already Scheduled

The CBF has confirmed two friendlies for October:

  • South Korea (Oct. 10 in Seoul)

The choice, made alongside Carlo Ancelotti’s staff, aims to expose the squad to different footballing styles and provide a stable preparation environment.

National team coordinator Rodrigo Caetano also revealed plans to finalize games against African and European opponents for the November FIFA Date.
