Brighton loan Julio Enciso to Strasbourg with €10 million option to buy

Julio Enciso will spend the season at Strasbourg, after Brighton agreed to a loan deal that includes an option to buy for less than €10 million. The move is part of a strategic plan led by BlueCo, the ownership group that controls both clubs.

Brighton Accepts Reduced Fee

Initially, Brighton had valued the Paraguayan striker at around €20 million, but according to L’Équipe journalist Cyril Olivès-Berthet, the Premier League club lowered its demands to facilitate the agreement.

The buy clause will remain valid until June 2026, offering Strasbourg the chance to secure Enciso on a permanent deal if he performs well.

Enciso Seeks Game Time After Injury

The 20-year-old forward is aiming to regain rhythm after undergoing knee surgery that sidelined him for the final stretch of last season.

With limited opportunities at Brighton, Strasbourg provides a chance for Enciso to rebuild confidence and earn regular minutes in Ligue 1, away from the intense pressure of the Premier League.

BlueCo’s Development Strategy

The transfer highlights BlueCo’s multi-club model, which uses Strasbourg as a platform to develop young talent. If Enciso impresses in France, the group could reintegrate him into Brighton or even redirect him to another club under its umbrella, such as Chelsea.

Should Strasbourg trigger the option to buy, Enciso would be tied to a long-term contract until 2029.
