PSG enters the race with Atlético Madrid to sign Takefusa Kubo from Real Sociedad

Takefusa Kubo has become one of the most coveted names in the European transfer market. At just 24, the Japanese forward is a standout at Real Sociedad, and now both PSG and Atlético de Madrid are competing to secure his signing.
PSG and Atlético See Kubo as Key Reinforcement
Kubo’s consistent performances in La Liga have raised his profile, drawing the attention of top clubs. PSG views him as an ideal offensive reinforcement, while Diego Simeone sees the player as a solution for Atlético’s right wing.
The battle between the two giants is expected to heat up the final weeks of the transfer window.
Real Sociedad Sets High Price
Despite Atlético’s €35 million (R$224 million) proposal, Real Sociedad values Kubo much higher. The Basque club, which holds his contract until 2029, is only willing to negotiate for around €70 million (R$448 million), a figure that reflects his importance to the squad.
According to Transfermarkt, Kubo’s current market value is €30 million (R$192 million), but Sociedad’s firm stance suggests a much bigger investment will be needed to sign him.
Competition Beyond Spain
In recent months, Liverpool and Everton also monitored Kubo, though the current dispute has narrowed to PSG and Atlético. Both clubs are expected to push negotiations forward in the coming weeks, with a final decision on the Japanese international’s future likely before the transfer window closes.
