Arsenal close to finalising Fábio Vieira’s transfer to West Ham

Arsenal are on the verge of sending Portuguese midfielder Fábio Vieira to West Ham, with negotiations at an advanced stage and the move expected to be completed this week, according to Football Insider.

Arsenal continue summer clear-out

The Gunners have been actively reshaping their squad, with manager Mikel Arteta looking to offload players no longer in his plans. The club already parted ways with Thomas Partey and other big names, and Vieira now appears next in line.

Arsenal’s board reportedly sees the player’s exit as beneficial for both parties, as the 24-year-old struggled to establish himself in North London.

Loan move without purchase clause

The deal with West Ham is set to be a season-long loan, with no information so far about a buy option being included in the agreement. The Hammers are believed to be the closest to finalizing his arrival after progressing in talks in recent days.

Vieira previously spent time at Porto, but his return to Arsenal last season did little to change his fortunes. Despite flashes of quality, he failed to convince Arteta or the fans that he could secure a regular spot in the midfield.

West Ham closing in on reinforcement

With the Premier League season underway, West Ham see Vieira as an additional creative option in midfield, aiming to strengthen their squad depth for the domestic campaign. If the deal goes through, the Portuguese could join up with his new teammates before the end of the week.
