Bolasie Talks About His Future at Cruzeiro: “I Really Like the Club”
Striker has become a fan favorite for his humor and engagement on social media
During Cruzeiro’s participation in the Vitória Cup, forward Yannick Bolasie opened up about his current situation and his hopes of staying at the club beyond the end of the season. The 35-year-old’s contract expires in December, but the Franco-Congolese player revealed he is enjoying life at Toca da Raposa.
“I haven’t talked about anything yet. I’m going with the flow… but at the moment, I said I’m enjoying my time and I’ve adapted to the players, the coach, everyone here… So… how can I say it in Portuguese? I really like Cruzeiro (laughs),” said Bolasie.
A Fan Favorite On and Off the Field
Though not a consistent starter under coach Leonardo Jardim, Bolasie has carved out a special place among Cruzeiro fans. In 2024, he’s featured in 24 matches and scored 4 goals.

But it’s off the pitch that the striker has truly won over supporters. Known for his playful and spontaneous social media presence, Bolasie regularly posts humorous reactions especially after victories using his signature catchphrase: “Let’s go!”
“I’m happy with the love the fans give me. It makes me fight even harder on the field. At the end of the day, I try to do what’s best for the team. I know my role, and I give my best every time. But I know I can do more, I can please even more. The more ‘let’s go’, the more plays, the better for everyone (laughs),” he added.
The Origin of His Iconic Posts
When asked about the inspiration behind his often-viral content, Bolasie explained that his ideas are never planned:
“To be honest, my ideas come from my feeling on the day. If we win, I’m excited and I’ll do anything. I don’t think, ‘Oh, I’ll plan.’ I don’t do that. It just comes. Sometimes it’s like: what’s in front of me? Okay, I’ll do that. I see a horse… okay, I’ll stop there. It’s like that (laughs),” he joked.
