Dani Carvajal has not confirmed whether he will remain at Real Madrid next season as he enters the final months of his contract with the club. So far, there is no clear indication that a renewal is being negotiated.
In comments shared by Fabrizio Romano, the 33-year-old right-back made it clear that his current focus is not on his future, but on returning to full fitness after injury.
“I recently recovered, all I want to do is train and enjoy football,” Carvajal said. “The club is completely in agreement with me. I need to play to see the level I can deliver on the pitch. As long as we are aligned, there will be no problems.”
Reduced role after new competition
Carvajal has lost his guaranteed starting spot following the arrival of Trent Alexander-Arnold and is no longer at his physical peak. This change in status, combined with recurring fitness issues, has influenced Real Madrid’s internal stance on his future.
According to journalist Jorge Picón, the club does not currently plan to offer the veteran defender a contract extension. Age, injury history, and squad renewal are key factors behind this position.
Free to negotiate, but no rush
Carvajal is already eligible to sign a pre-contract agreement with another club, but there are no active talks underway at this stage. Real Madrid are also not expected to block his departure should a suitable offer arise.
Despite the uncertainty, Carvajal remains part of Xabi Alonso’s plans for the second half of the season. With injuries affecting the defensive line, the Spaniard is still considered a useful and experienced option as he gradually returns after nearly two months out.
