Amad Diallo has spoken candidly about Ruben Amorim’s dismissal from Manchester United, admitting he was deeply disappointed by the Portuguese coach’s departure. In an interview with Centre Devils, the Ivorian forward described the situation as emotionally challenging and revealed that he personally reached out to his former manager.

“It was a difficult topic,” Diallo said. “I was a little sad because he’s the coach who gave me the most visibility and the most opportunities to play for Manchester United.”

Currently representing Ivory Coast at the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), the winger explained how important Amorim had been to his development at Old Trafford.

“I even sent him a message thanking him for everything he did for me—both in my life and especially in my career. I wished him good luck wherever he goes,” Diallo added. He also acknowledged the uncertainty surrounding the club’s future, noting that he still does not know who his next permanent coach will be.

Manchester United Move Toward Solskjær Return

Following Amorim’s departure, Manchester United have appointed Darren Fletcher as interim manager. However, the club hierarchy is actively searching for a more experienced head coach to lead the team through the second half of the season.

According to Fabrizio Romano, talks with Ole Gunnar Solskjær are now at an advanced stage. The Norwegian has reportedly given a positive response to the idea of returning to Old Trafford and is open to signing a short-term deal until the end of the season.

While a final agreement has yet to be completed, there is growing optimism on both sides. Within the club, Solskjær’s potential return is viewed favorably, with strong internal backing for the former manager.

Dressing Room Support for Solskjær

Despite Diallo’s disappointment at losing the manager who played a pivotal role in his United career, the mood around Solskjær’s possible comeback is largely positive. Club legends, including Rio Ferdinand, have publicly welcomed the idea of the Norwegian returning to the dugout.

Inside the dressing room, senior figures such as Bruno Fernandes and Harry Maguire are also reported to support Solskjær’s appointment. Their approval is considered significant, given their leadership roles within the squad.
