Isak pushes for Anfield switch

The future of Alexander Isak took a dramatic turn this Tuesday (26). According to The Telegraph, the Swedish striker has decided to stay away from Newcastle’s squad until his transfer to Liverpool is finalized.

Isak has not featured in recent matches and will also miss Saturday’s clash against Leeds, just days before the September 1st transfer deadline. The forward remains under contract with Newcastle but is reportedly frustrated with stalled negotiations.

Stalemate between clubs

Liverpool submitted an offer of €127 million (R$803.9m), which was rejected. Newcastle countered with a €170 million (R$1.07b) valuation — a figure the Reds are unwilling to meet. Talks have been frozen for three weeks, fueling speculation about Isak’s immediate future.

Growing conflict with Newcastle board

Tensions escalated on Monday when Newcastle’s owners, including PIF representatives and co-owner Jamie Reuben, visited Isak at home to convince him to return to training. The striker, however, stood firm in his decision to remain sidelined.

On Instagram, Isak claimed he had lost trust in the board and accused the club of breaking promises. Newcastle responded with an official statement, signaling an increasingly fractured relationship.
