The move comes after the club missed out on Eberechi Eze, who signed for Arsenal despite lengthy negotiations with Spurs.

So far, there have been no official talks between Tottenham and RB Leipzig. Even so, the London club wants to move quickly and believes it can overtake Chelsea in the race.

In addition to Simons, Lucas Paquetá remains an option. The Brazilian midfielder has the approval of Tottenham’s coaching staff, who want another creative force in attack this season.
