Chelsea Stun Liverpool With Estêvão’s 90th-Minute Winner, Arsenal Take Premier League Lead

Chelsea struck late to claim a dramatic 2-1 victory over Liverpool at Stamford Bridge this Saturday (4), in Matchday 7 of the Premier League. Brazilian wonderkid Estêvão scored his first goal in the competition in the 90th minute, a result that also handed Arsenal the top spot in the table.

Caicedo Opens, Gakpo Levels

The Blues started strongly and took the lead in the 14th minute when Moisés Caicedo fired from distance, beating goalkeeper Mamardashvili, who couldn’t stop the rocket.

Liverpool grew in the second half and equalized in the 63rd minute. Isak set up Cody Gakpo, who tapped home inside the six-yard box to make it 1-1.

Estêvão the Hero

Just when the draw looked certain, Enzo Fernández found Cucurella on the left flank. The Spaniard crossed low into the box, where 17-year-old Estêvão anticipated the defense and flicked the ball into the net, sealing Chelsea’s win at the death.
The goal marked the Brazilian’s first strike in the Premier League—and in unforgettable fashion.

Table Shifts: Arsenal on Top

The defeat was Liverpool’s third in a row, following setbacks against Galatasaray and Crystal Palace. With the result, Arsenal (16 points) moved top after a 2-0 win over West Ham, while Liverpool slipped to second with 15. Chelsea, meanwhile, climbed to ninth on 9 points.
