Liverpool maintained their 100% record in the Premier League after a dramatic 1-0 away win at Burnley, sealed by Mohamed Salah’s stoppage-time penalty. The Reds are now the only side with 12 points from four games, sitting top of the table.
Tight First Half With Few Chances
Liverpool dominated possession at Turf Moor but created little danger. Their main threat came from set pieces, with Ibrahima Konaté twice heading off target.
Burnley’s biggest scare came when Kerkez, already booked for simulation, committed another foul and was withdrawn before halftime. His replacement, Andrew Robertson, immediately made an impact with a solo run and powerful strike, denied by goalkeeper Martin Dubravka.
Burnley Reduced to 10, Salah Decides
In the second half, Ryan Gravenberch and Florian Wirtz forced Dubravka into action with shots from the edge of the box. Burnley tightened defensively, but their resistance was broken after Ugochukwu received a second yellow card in the 85th minute.
Deep into stoppage time, Jeremie Frimpong’s cross struck Hannibal Mejbri’s arm inside the area. Salah stepped up and coolly converted the penalty, sending the keeper the wrong way for the decisive goal.
