Manchester City star Haaland slams former club Bryne after release of three players

Manchester City striker Erling Haaland publicly criticized his former club Bryne FK, from Norway, after the sudden departure of three players. The outburst came on social media, where the forward expressed frustration with the club’s management.
Haaland’s anger on social media
“Hey, Bryne FK! What the f… is going on?” wrote Haaland, reacting to the release of Axel Kryger, Jens Husebø and Robert Undheim.
When a fan replied asking if he shouldn’t be sleeping, the striker responded: “Yes, but my club is in chaos and it’s annoying me, so I can’t sleep.”
The comments quickly spread among Norwegian and international media, bringing attention to Bryne’s internal problems.
Bryne explains decision after internal conflicts
The Norwegian club issued an official statement confirming the termination of contracts. According to Bryne, the departures were the result of a tense atmosphere within the squad and disagreements with coach Kevin Knappen, who has since been dismissed.
“Bryne FK has recently suffered from dissatisfaction among some of its first-team players. This has revolved around the way coach Kevin Knappen has led the squad. The conflict was resolved on Tuesday night, and the club now remains united in the fight to stay in the Eliteserien,” read the statement.
Behind-the-scenes tensions
Local media had already reported tension between Axel Kryger and coach Knappen. Bryne’s sporting director, Roger Eskeland, had previously said he would not comment on Kryger’s situation, especially as the player was injured.
Bryne’s situation in the league
The crisis comes at a crucial moment in the Eliteserien, Norway’s top division. Bryne currently sits 14th in the standings with 20 points, just ten matches before the end of the season, fighting to avoid relegation.
