Lamine Yamal dreams of winning several Ballons d’Or: “I have the ability to do it”

Barcelona forward Lamine Yamal, 18, has openly shared his ambition to win multiple Ballons d’Or, just days before this year’s ceremony in Paris on September 22.
Ambition beyond a single award
In an interview with the podcast “Resonancia de Corazón,” Yamal explained that his goals extend far beyond winning the award once. “I told my friends: I don’t dream of winning one Ballon d’Or, I dream of winning many,” the Spanish striker said.
The youngster emphasized that success depends entirely on his dedication and performance, both for Barcelona and the Spanish national team. According to Yamal, failing to win would simply reflect choices or performances that fell short of the required level.
Focus on collective success
Despite his personal ambitions, Yamal stressed that individual awards are secondary to team achievements. His ultimate aim remains to secure titles and collective victories alongside Barcelona.
Making history at 18
This season, Yamal is already considered a serious contender for the Ballon d’Or, alongside players such as Pedri, Jude Bellingham, Harry Kane, Lautaro Martínez, Kylian Mbappé, Vitinha, and Ousmane Dembélé.
If he wins, Yamal would become the youngest player ever to claim the award, surpassing Ronaldo Fenômeno, who lifted it in 1997 at 21 years and 3 months with Inter Milan.
