Inter Milan agrees to transfer Benjamin Pavard to Olympique de Marseille

Benjamin Pavard is leaving Inter Milan for a new challenge in France. The Italian club has confirmed an agreement with Olympique de Marseille for the defender’s transfer, finalized on the closing day of the European summer window.

Inter Milan Open to Sale

After being deemed surplus to requirements by coach Simone Inzaghi, Pavard was placed on the transfer list. Inter’s board was open to negotiations and did not create obstacles to his departure, allowing Marseille to step in and secure the French international.

Loan With Option to Buy

The deal sees Pavard join Marseille on loan until the end of the season, with an option to make the move permanent. Should the Ligue 1 side activate the clause, they will pay €15 million to Inter Milan.

Marseille Confirm Signing

Marseille officially announced Pavard’s arrival on Monday (September 1), highlighting him as a key reinforcement for their defensive line. The French club is preparing to hand him his debut later this month, once the international break concludes.

Expected Debut After FIFA Break

Pavard is expected to feature in his first game for Marseille during the third week of September, with his potential debut lined up against Lorient in Ligue 1. Fans are eager to see the World Cup winner back in French football after his Serie A stint.
