Porto goalkeeper Diogo Costa enters Al-Nassr’s radar after stalled negotiations with Ederson

Saudi club looks for a world-class reinforcement while European giants also monitor the 25-year-old
Al-Nassr shifts focus
Al-Nassr continues its search for a top-level goalkeeper to reinforce the squad. Initially focused on Ederson, the Saudi club has faced difficulties in negotiations with Manchester City and is now looking at alternatives.
The new name under evaluation is Diogo Costa, current Porto goalkeeper and starter for the Portuguese national team. At 25, Costa is considered one of the most promising goalkeepers in Europe, combining experience with international titles such as the UEFA Nations League.
Contract until 2027 makes deal difficult
Despite Al-Nassr’s interest, Costa’s contract with Porto runs until June 2027, which complicates an immediate transfer. The Dragons will not release their goalkeeper without a significant offer.
Still, the Saudi side is reportedly willing to negotiate terms that could convince both Porto and the player.
Valuation and other suitors
According to Transfermarkt, Diogo Costa is valued at €40 million (R$252 million), making him one of the most expensive players in the Portuguese league.
Besides Al-Nassr, Manchester City, Manchester United, and Galatasaray have also shown interest in the goalkeeper as they look to strengthen their squads.
Rising career
Costa has been a starter for Porto for several seasons, known for his reflexes, penalty-saving ability, and leadership. His rise has made him a reference in Portuguese football and one of the most sought-after names in the transfer market.
