Botafogo re-signs Cuiabano on loan after Nottingham Forest agreement

Botafogo have secured the return of Cuiabano on loan until December, after reaching an agreement with Nottingham Forest. The 21-year-old left-back, who had just been transferred to the English club, will finish the season in Rio de Janeiro under coach Davide Ancelotti.
Nottingham Forest allows loan move
Cuiabano traveled to England last week to finalize his signing with Nottingham Forest, who invested heavily in the defender’s potential. However, the Premier League club quickly accepted Botafogo’s request to bring him back on a short-term deal, according to Canal do TF.
The talks concluded on Tuesday night (2), with no resistance from Forest. Cuiabano himself expressed his desire to finish the season at Glorioso, which helped speed up negotiations.
Relationship between clubs
The smooth process is also linked to the strong relationship between the ownership groups of Botafogo and Nottingham Forest. Both clubs see this operation as an opportunity to strengthen ties and pave the way for future business.
Key player for Botafogo
Cuiabano had been one of Botafogo’s standout players before moving to England. His return is seen as a major boost for the team as they look to finish the 2025 season strongly in the Brasileirão and other competitions.
