Hansi Flick’s Barcelona gets the ‘yes’ to sign Riquelme Felipe from Fluminense

Barcelona has received the go-ahead to sign Brazilian winger Riquelme Felipe, with the 18-year-old Fluminense talent reportedly eager to join the Catalan giants. The move comes as part of Hansi Flick’s strategy to reinforce the squad with young prospects, rather than high-profile stars.

Riquelme Says ‘Yes’ to Barça Dream

According to a report from RTI Esportes, Riquelme Felipe has personally expressed his desire to join Barcelona both to club legend and current sporting director Deco, and to the Fluminense board. The winger is one of the latest gems to emerge from Brazil’s talent pipeline and sees a future at Camp Nou as a dream come true.

While Barcelona has yet to make an official offer, sources indicate that Fluminense president Mário Bittencourt will not stand in the player’s way if a serious bid arrives. The club respects Riquelme’s ambitions and acknowledges the strong relationship it maintains with Barça through Deco and the player’s agent, André Cury.

Fluminense Seeks Fair Value

Despite their willingness to negotiate, Fluminense will not part with Riquelme cheaply. The winger has a contract until March 2028 and a release clause set at €50 million (converted from approximately R$324 million). While the final deal is expected to come below that valuation, the Brazilian side expects a substantial offer that reflects the player’s potential.

Another Brazilian to Join Barcelona’s Youth Movement?

Riquelme Felipe has already made 17 senior appearances for Fluminense and is viewed as a long-term investment by Barcelona’s recruitment team. His name joins a list of emerging young talents like Roony Bardghji, as the club reshapes its future under Hansi Flick without splurging on marquee names.

Barça’s strategic focus on young, high-upside players could soon see another Brazilian starlet wearing Blaugrana colors, as Deco continues to build a squad for the next generation.
