Gabriel Pec rejects interest from Palmeiras and gives the green light for him to join Real Oviedo

Los Angeles Galaxy star leaning toward Spain despite interest from Arsenal, Atlético Madrid, and Palmeiras

Gabriel Pec appears to be closing in on a move to Real Oviedo, despite strong interest from Palmeiras and prior links to Arsenal and Atlético Madrid. The 24-year-old Brazilian winger, currently with LA Galaxy, is reportedly open to a move to Spain’s top division following Oviedo’s recent promotion.

According to Fichajes, Pec has already given a positive response to Oviedo’s approach, and while negotiations are still in their early stages, the club sees his signing as a key reinforcement ahead of a demanding 2025/26 La Liga campaign.

Palmeiras’ Hopes Dented

Palmeiras had emerged as a serious contender for Pec’s signature, with the club eager to strengthen its attack. However, the player appears set on continuing his European journey, having reportedly prioritized the opportunity to play in La Liga.

Despite the setback, Palmeiras is still active in the transfer market, recently being linked to Nicolo Zaniolo, the Italian midfielder who has previously played for Roma, Aston Villa, Atalanta, and Fiorentina.

Pec’s Rise in MLS

Gabriel Pec has impressed since joining the LA Galaxy in early 2024. This season, he has tallied 7 goals and 1 assist in 26 appearances, continuing the strong form that defined his debut year in Major League Soccer.

In the 2024 season, Pec posted remarkable numbers: 21 goals and 19 assists in 41 matches, establishing himself as one of the league’s most dynamic offensive threats.

A product of Vasco da Gama’s academy, Pec made his first-team debut in 2020 and played four full seasons in Brazil before heading to the United States. His versatility capable of operating across the front line makes him an attractive option for clubs across Europe and South America.
