Newcastle and Milan eyeing: Chelsea imposes tough condition to loan Nicolas Jackson

The Blues want a compulsory purchase agreement for the Senegalese striker, but interested clubs are hesitant over valuation
Chelsea has informed potential suitors that any loan deal for Nicolas Jackson must include a mandatory buyout clause worth at least €60 million, according to reports from Fichajes.com. The striker, who has fallen out of favour under new manager Enzo Maresca, is being targeted by Newcastle United and AC Milan, but both clubs are reportedly unwilling to meet the Premier League side’s demands.
Valuation Sparks Friction
Despite registering 13 goals in 37 appearances last season, Jackson underwhelmed overall—missing 15 clear chances, which has led many to question Chelsea’s valuation. The €60 million asking price exceeds his €50 million market value on Transfermarkt and has already sparked resistance from both English and Italian camps.
Milan, in particular, has backed away from the negotiations for now, believing the fee does not match the striker’s recent performance levels. Manager Massimiliano Allegri, however, has not ruled out a return to the table should the conditions improve.
Chelsea Stands Firm on Potential
Chelsea’s board maintains that Jackson has untapped potential and could evolve into a top-tier European goalscorer. Their unwillingness to settle for a lower deal reflects the long-term belief in his development trajectory despite being deemed surplus to requirements in Maresca’s tactical plans.
The Senegal international, aged 24, is currently not among the coach’s preferred options heading into the 2025/26 season. His situation puts pressure on the board to either adjust its asking price or risk leaving the forward without significant minutes this season.
Delap and João Pedro Take Over
Jackson has already been overtaken in the pecking order. Liam Delap, who joined Chelsea before the Club World Cup, impressed with decisive contributions against Palmeiras, Fluminense, and PSG, quickly earning trust from the coaching staff.
Meanwhile, João Pedro has also been identified as a future attacking leader, further narrowing Jackson’s opportunities at Stamford Bridge.
