Manchester City close to historic signing of Donnarumma from PSG; Contract signed until 2031

Manchester City are in advanced talks to sign Gianluigi Donnarumma from Paris Saint-Germain, with a deal that could mark the first major paid transfer between the Qatari-owned French club and the Emirati-owned Premier League champions. According to journalist Rudy Galetti (TEAMtalk), the agreement includes a contract running until 2031 and a salary of €12 million net per season (R$75 million), potentially rising with bonuses.

Move Linked to Ederson’s Likely Exit

City’s pursuit of Donnarumma comes amid strong interest from Galatasaray in current No. 1 Ederson. The Brazilian’s possible departure would create the perfect opening for the 25-year-old Italian, who was instrumental in PSG’s Champions League triumph last season.

Pep Guardiola Personally in Contact

Pep Guardiola has held direct talks with Donnarumma, reportedly telling the goalkeeper: “For me, you are one of the three best in the world.” The Spaniard sees the Italy international as an ideal fit for his long-term project at the Etihad.

Historic Transfer Between Owners

While players have moved on free transfers before, such as Claudio Gomes and Sangaré, a paid transfer between PSG and Manchester City has never happened since the clubs came under Qatari and Emirati ownership, respectively adding historic weight to the negotiations.

Donnarumma’s Impact at PSG

Last season, Donnarumma featured in 47 matches, conceded 43 goals, and played 4,192 minutes under Luis Enrique, proving a vital part of PSG’s European success. The transfer, if completed, would see one of world football’s top goalkeepers move to the Premier League at the peak of his career.
