PSG makes €50 million offer for Fermín López, but Barcelona demands payment of €500 million clause

Paris Saint-Germain have approached Barcelona with a €50 million (R$315 million) bid for midfielder Fermín López, but the Catalan club immediately rejected the offer. According to El Nacional, Barça will only consider selling the 21-year-old if his €500 million (R$3 billion) release clause is paid in full.
Luis Enrique Personally Requested the Signing
The approach came at the request of PSG coach Luis Enrique, who is eager to bring the La Masia product to Paris. However, Barcelona’s financial stance and sporting project mean López is currently not for sale.
Untouchable Under Hansi Flick
Manager Hansi Flick has placed López among his “untouchable” players, alongside Lamine Yamal, Raphinha, Jules Koundé, Pedri, and Robert Lewandowski. While not always a starter, López earned Flick’s trust thanks to his standout performances in the final stretch of last season and his determination to play a key role in the team.
Possible Departures Elsewhere in the Squad
While López remains firmly in Barcelona’s plans, other names could be on the way out. Reports from Somos Fanáticos suggest goalkeeper Marc-André ter Stegen may leave either in the current transfer window or in January’s winter market.
Barça’s La Liga Kick-Off
Barcelona begin their La Liga title defense on Saturday, August 16, at 2:30 p.m., away to Mallorca. Flick’s side enter as favorites to secure all three points.
