Evanilson scores as Bournemouth beat Tottenham and end their unbeaten run in the Premier League

Tottenham’s perfect start to the Premier League came to an end this Saturday (30), as Bournemouth secured a deserved 1-0 win in London thanks to a first-half goal from Brazilian striker Evanilson.
Bournemouth dominate despite Spurs’ possession
Spurs had more of the ball at home but were outclassed by Bournemouth’s intensity and compact defense. The visitors struck early, just four minutes in, when defender Marcos Senesi picked out Evanilson inside the box. The forward finished with a precise left-footed strike to put the Cherries ahead.
Bournemouth continued to threaten, with Evanilson missing two further chances that could have doubled the lead. Tottenham, meanwhile, failed to record a single shot on target in the first half, struggling to break down the visitors’ pressing game.
Spurs collapse under pressure
The second half followed the same script, with Bournemouth dictating the pace. Goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario was called into action several times, denying Semenyo and producing a fine save from Brooks after the midfielder had already rattled the crossbar.
Tottenham only managed their first shot on target after the 65th minute. Their best opportunity came deep in stoppage time, when Mathys Tel fired narrowly wide from the edge of the box. By then, Bournemouth had already secured control of the match and sealed a statement victory.
League standings
The result sees Tottenham drop to third place with six points, while Bournemouth climb to seventh, also with six points but trailing on goal difference.
