Aymeric Laporte in talks over Al-Nassr exit as Como eyes surprise transfer

Former Manchester City defender could return to Europe this summer
Aymeric Laporte could be set for a dramatic move back to Europe, with Serie A newcomers Como making the Spanish international their top defensive target. According to journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, the Italian club sees the former Manchester City star as a priority signing before the transfer window closes.
Laporte Considers Al-Nassr Termination
Currently under contract with Al-Nassr until 2026, Laporte is reportedly working on a mutual termination that would allow him to leave Saudi Arabia one year early. The defender has struggled to settle in the Saudi Pro League and is now exploring a European comeback.
Such a move would allow Como to sign the player on a free transfer, significantly increasing their chances of success in negotiations.
Salary Could Be a Major Obstacle
One major hurdle remains: Laporte’s salary. The Spaniard is currently among the three highest-paid defenders in the world, something that could make the deal difficult for Como to finalize.
Still, the opportunity to bring in a Champions League–proven defender without a transfer fee is seen as too good to ignore.
Athletic Bilbao Also in the Picture
While Como leads the race, Laporte could also consider a return to Athletic Bilbao, the club where he rose to prominence before joining Manchester City in 2018.
Cesc Fàbregas, now sporting director at Como, is banking on big-name experience to boost the club’s stability and competitiveness in their first season back in Serie A. Laporte fits perfectly into that vision.
