Atlético de Madrid offers €35 million for the signing of Takefusa Kubo from Real Sociedad

Atlético de Madrid has submitted a formal offer of R$224 million (€35 million) to sign Takefusa Kubo from Real Sociedad, but the Basque club has made it clear: the Japanese striker will only leave for the full release clause, set at €60 million (R$384 million).

Simeone’s Top Request

According to Spanish outlets, the pursuit of Kubo comes directly from coach Diego Simeone, who wants to reinforce the right wing of Atlético’s attack. The Argentine manager sees the 23-year-old as the ideal replacement for Samu Lino, who recently moved to Flamengo.

Kubo’s dribbling, creativity, and tactical discipline have turned him into one of La Liga’s standout players, cementing his importance at Real Sociedad and attracting top-level interest.

Negotiation Obstacles

Real Sociedad has no intention of selling below the clause. The club values Kubo not only for his performance but also for his marketability, as the Japanese international has become a central figure for both fans and the team’s European ambitions.

Atlético, however, hopes that the player’s desire to compete at the highest level and Simeone’s project could weigh in negotiations. The coming weeks will be decisive in determining whether the Madrid club is willing to raise its bid closer to €60 million.

Kubo’s Current Role

For now, Kubo remains a starter at Real Sociedad and continues to prepare for the new season. Despite the speculation, he is said to be comfortable and focused on the Basque side’s domestic and European campaigns.
