Al-Nassr expels Bento and begins negotiations with Al Shabab; club eyes Ederson as replacement

Brazilian goalkeeper Bento is no longer in Al-Nassr’s plans for the 2025/26 season. Journalist Raisa Simplicio reports that the Saudi club is negotiating a loan move with Al Shabab.
Bento out of Jorge Jesus’ plans
Since Jorge Jesus took charge, the coach has made it clear that Bento does not fit his preferred goalkeeper profile. His shaky performance in the Saudi Super Cup final against Al-Ahli accelerated the board’s decision to move him out.
Another issue is the foreign player quota in Saudi football, which Al-Nassr wants to free up for new signings. Reports also suggest that Cristiano Ronaldo has expressed doubts about Bento’s reliability.
Al-Nassr dreams of Ederson
While trying to place Bento, Al-Nassr is also targeting Manchester City’s Ederson. Jorge Jesus considers the Brazilian the “ideal goalkeeper” for his system.
The negotiations won’t be easy: Galatasaray have already tabled a €15M offer for Ederson, adding more competition in the market.
Still trusted by Brazil
Despite his club struggles, Bento remains valued on the international stage. Carlo Ancelotti called him up for the Brazilian National Team, alongside Liverpool’s Alisson and Corinthians’ Hugo Souza, as part of the World Cup cycle.
