Thomas Müller Eyes MLS Move After Bayern Munich Exit, LAFC Among Suitors

German legend Thomas Müller has no plans to retire and is targeting a move to Major League Soccer (MLS), with Los Angeles FC (LAFC) currently leading the race to sign the 35-year-old forward, according to Sky Sport journalists Florian Plettenberg and Torben Hoffmann.
After confirming his departure from Bayern Munich, where he has spent his entire professional career since debuting in 2008, Müller is now considering offers from both North and South America, as well as Europe.
LAFC Lead as Müller Weighs Future Options
LAFC is one of multiple MLS clubs interested in signing Müller. He has also been linked with FC Cincinnati, Galatasaray (Turkey), Fiorentina (Italy), and Brazilian sides Grêmio and Internacional.
While there is at least one additional unnamed MLS club in pursuit, sources close to the player state that Müller prefers a move to the United States, where he could add veteran leadership and global visibility to the growing American league.
Bayern Munich Exit Imminent
Müller’s official farewell from Bayern is expected within the next 7 to 10 days, as details surrounding the final year of his contract and formal announcements are being finalized.
The German forward leaves Bayern as a club icon, having won numerous Bundesliga titles, two Champions League trophies, and a FIFA World Cup with Germany in 2014. His leadership, off-ball intelligence, and playmaking have made him a consistent asset well into his 30s.
Last Season with Bayern
In his final season, Müller featured in 49 matches, scoring 8 goals and providing 7 assists across all competitions. He also contributed during the Club World Cup, appearing in five games and recording two goals and one assist.
Bayern Eyes New Signings
Meanwhile, Bayern Munich is pursuing reinforcements in attack. The club has expressed strong interest in Liverpool’s Luis Díaz, valued at approximately €70 million, and is also reportedly considering Arsenal’s Leandro Trossard.
