Chelsea’s Christopher Nkunku Wants Bayern Move Amid €46M Negotiation Talks

Chelsea striker Christopher Nkunku has expressed interest in joining Bayern Munich, as the Bundesliga club intensifies efforts to sign the French international during the current transfer window, according to a report from TEAMtalk.
Nkunku, 27, is reportedly enthusiastic about linking up with new Bayern manager Vincent Kompany, and personal terms are not expected to be an issue. While Manchester United is also monitoring the situation, Bayern Munich has emerged as the clear frontrunner.
Chelsea Open to Permanent Transfer
Chelsea are prepared to negotiate a permanent deal and are believed to be seeking up to €46 million for the striker. However, sources close to the matter suggest a transfer could realistically be completed for around €41 million (£35 million), a figure Bayern is currently willing to consider.
The West London club is aiming to reshape its squad under Enzo Maresca, and while Nkunku remains a valued asset, his departure could help balance the books after an active window of signings.
Bayern Seeking Firepower
Bayern Munich’s pursuit of Nkunku comes amid urgent attempts to strengthen their attack, following unsuccessful bids for other top-tier forwards. Club officials view Nkunku as an ideal profile: technically skilled, versatile in the final third, and proven in both Ligue 1 and the Premier League.
The German side is looking to move quickly to finalize a deal and fend off last-minute interest from Manchester United, who remain in the background of the negotiations.
Nkunku’s Performance at Chelsea
Nkunku joined Chelsea in 2023 and has had a mixed spell at Stamford Bridge, partly hindered by injuries in his debut campaign. Still, he featured in 48 matches last season, starting 25, scoring 15 goals and registering five assists across all competitions.
While he has shown flashes of brilliance, the club’s evolving tactical structure and crowded attacking roster have prompted openness to his departure if the price is right.
