Liverpool holds first training session with the return of Alexander Isak and Jeremie Frimpong

Liverpool resumed preparations for their Premier League clash against Burnley, with Alexander Isak joining training and Jeremie Frimpong progressing in his recovery.

Reds Return to Training After FIFA Break

Liverpool returned to the training ground on Wednesday, October 10, following the FIFA International break. The session marked the first training appearance of Alexander Isak, who recently completed his transfer from Newcastle United amid some prior disagreements between the clubs.

Coach Arne Slot oversaw technical drills on the pitch, while players also engaged in physical conditioning in the gym.

Frimpong Close to Return

Right-back Jeremie Frimpong, signed from Bayer Leverkusen, started the season as a starter but missed matches against Arsenal (1-0 win) and Newcastle (3-2 win) due to injury. Photos released by Liverpool show the Dutch defender back in training, suggesting he may soon rejoin the matchday squad.

Emmanuel Airoboma Professionalized

Another highlight from the session was the professionalization of 18-year-old defender Emmanuel Airoboma, who has been with Liverpool since the U-12 team. Primarily a center-back, Airoboma can also play at right-back, providing Coach Arne Slot with additional defensive options.

Alexander Isak Comments on Transfer

Isak addressed the controversy surrounding his move from Newcastle:

“I can’t control everything that’s said or written, but I’m happy to have become a Liverpool player. It’s great that everything has been resolved, and now I can focus on playing football again. I’m pleased with the result, happy and proud to be a Liverpool player.”

Liverpool vs Burnley: Next Match and Likely Lineup

Liverpool will face Burnley next Sunday (October 14) at Turf Moor, with kickoff at 10 am Brasília time. Liverpool currently sits atop the Premier League table with a perfect record of nine points from three matches.

A likely lineup for the Reds:
