PSG Targets Osimhen and Six Reinforcements After Club World Cup Defeat to Chelsea

Following a disappointing loss to Chelsea in the Club World Cup final, Paris Saint-Germain is preparing a major overhaul in the transfer market. Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen has been identified as the top priority in a list that includes at least six new signings, as manager Luis Enrique pushes for reinforcements across the squad.

According to reports from L’Équipe and GOAL, PSG’s board has accelerated transfer plans in response to concerns over the squad’s depth and performance under pressure. The French giants aim to strengthen every department, from attack to defense.

Osimhen Leads PSG’s Summer Wishlist

PSG is locked in talks to bring in Osimhen, who remains under contract with Napoli. While the Nigerian striker is reportedly closer to a move to Galatasaray, PSG is expected to make a competitive bid to hijack the deal. Another attacking name on the radar is Rafael Leão, the Portuguese forward currently at AC Milan.

Despite the team’s strong attacking core, PSG leadership believes more firepower is necessary to compete at the highest level in Europe.

Midfield and Full-Back Reinforcements in Focus

In midfield, PSG had considered a move for Joshua Kimmich, but the German international has signed a new deal with Bayern Munich, ending speculation of a transfer to Paris. While the current trio of João Neves, Vitinha, and Fabián Ruiz performed well, PSG wants greater rotation options.

Luis Enrique is also pushing for two new full-backs, as the absence of Achraf Hakimi or Nuno Mendes has led to significant dips in form. The club’s technical staff believes competition is crucial to maintain high performance levels throughout the season.

Defensive Changes Expected: Beraldo and Hernández May Leave

On the defensive line, both Lucas Beraldo and Lucas Hernández could be on their way out. Manchester United has shown interest in Beraldo, while Atlético Madrid is tracking Hernández. PSG is already scouting replacements, with Zabarnyi from Bournemouth emerging as a top option.

Beraldo, a former São Paulo defender and regular Brazil call-up, has reportedly requested a transfer due to limited playing time. PSG is open to letting him leave if a suitable offer arrives.

PSG Also Eyes Goalkeeping and Youth Depth

Finally, PSG has secured the signing of Renato Marin, a 19-year-old goalkeeper with dual nationality (Brazilian-Italian) and a background at Roma. The young shot-stopper is seen as a long-term investment for the future.

The club has also made headlines by reportedly preparing to offer R$1.6 billion to sign Cole Palmer, although the Chelsea midfielder has expressed his desire to remain in London.

With ambitions to reclaim dominance in Europe, PSG is set to become one of the busiest clubs in the current transfer window.
