Unhappy in France, PSG’s Donnnarumma wants to play for Manchester United

Italian goalkeeper dissatisfied with Paris Saint-Germain after club targets new goalkeeper in transfer market
Italian goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma has expressed his desire to leave Paris Saint-Germain and join Manchester United, according to TeamTalk. The 26-year-old is reportedly unhappy in France, particularly after PSG made a move to sign Lucas Chevalier, suggesting the club no longer sees him as their undisputed number one.
Manchester United Identifies Donnarumma as Onana Replacement
Donnarumma sees Manchester United as a club with the infrastructure and ambition to return to the elite level of European football. United, in turn, are seriously considering the Italian to replace André Onana, who has struggled to meet expectations since arriving at Old Trafford.
Club insiders reportedly view Donnarumma’s age as ideal and see him as a long-term solution to their goalkeeping concerns.
Negotiations on the Horizon
While Donnarumma has made his intentions clear, a deal now depends on Manchester United’s willingness to negotiate with PSG. The Premier League club is expected to initiate talks in the coming days.
Donnarumma’s current contract with the French champions is valid until June 2026. His market value is currently €40 million, but with just one season remaining on his deal, that figure could drop to €20 million making a transfer more feasible for the English side.
Longstanding Goalkeeper Issue at United
Since the departure of David De Gea, United have struggled to find stability between the posts. Onana, who was brought in to fill the void, has not lived up to expectations. Donnarumma’s arrival would address what many see as a critical weak spot in the team’s structure.
Isak Turns Down Manchester United for Liverpool
In a separate development, Manchester United are also tracking Alexander Isak of Newcastle United. However, the Swedish forward is reportedly uninterested in the move, making it clear he prefers a transfer to Liverpool.
Newcastle previously rejected a €128 million (approx. R$800 million) offer from an unnamed club, and another bid from United is said to be unlikely unless the player changes his stance.
