Napoli shows interest in Sterling; Chelsea is in talks for two more players

Napoli have set their sights on Raheem Sterling as a potential signing this summer, following the breakdown of talks to sign Dan Ndoye from Bologna. The Italian champions are considering a loan move for the 30-year-old Chelsea winger, though the Premier League side is prioritizing a permanent transfer.

Sterling Linked to Serie A Move

Alongside Napoli, both Juventus and Bayer Leverkusen are also monitoring Sterling’s situation. The England international has two years remaining on his Chelsea contract, but his future under new manager Enzo Maresca remains uncertain.

Sterling previously moved to Arsenal on loan last season in a last-minute deal, with Chelsea reportedly covering a large portion of his wages. A similar structure is being explored again, but the Blues would prefer to offload him outright to free up space and salary for incoming talent.

Napoli Eye Sterling After Missing Out on Ndoye

Napoli shifted focus to Sterling after failing to reach an agreement for Ndoye, who is now drawing attention from Nottingham Forest. With frustration mounting, the Serie A side views Sterling as a high-profile alternative who could bring experience and attacking versatility to the squad.

The Naples-based club has had success with former Premier League players notably Scott McTominay, who joined from Manchester United and became a key figure in last season’s title-winning campaign.

Former United Player Aids Chelsea Talks

A former Manchester United player unnamed in reports is reportedly involved as an intermediary in talks between Chelsea and Maresca, facilitating both outgoings and potential incomings as the club reshapes its squad for the 2025/26 season.

Chelsea Push for Jorrel Hato and Xavi Simons

  • Meanwhile, Chelsea remain active in the transfer market, currently pursuing two major European talents:
  • Jorrel Hato: Negotiations with Ajax are ongoing for the 19-year-old Dutch defender. Chelsea have offered approximately €41 million, but Ajax are holding firm on their €58 million valuation.
  • Xavi Simons: The RB Leipzig midfielder is also a top target. Although Chelsea haven’t yet submitted a formal offer, the club is confident a deal can be reached. Leipzig values the Dutch playmaker at around €70 million.
