Casemiro warns Manchester United about possible Rodrygo signing from Liverpool

Manchester United star Casemiro has sounded the alarm over Liverpool’s potential signing of Rodrygo, praising the Real Madrid forward as a “global star in the making.” The warning comes as Liverpool intensifies talks to secure the Brazilian, fueling the rivalry between the Reds and Red Devils in the transfer market.
Rodrygo on Liverpool’s Radar
According to Foot Mercato, Liverpool has initiated discussions with Rodrygo’s representatives, exploring a deal that could see the 24-year-old leave Real Madrid, where his role has diminished since the arrival of Kylian Mbappé.
Last season, Rodrygo started just 22 LaLiga matches and saw limited action during Madrid’s FIFA Club World Cup campaign, featuring for only 92 minutes under new coach Xabi Alonso.
Casemiro: “Rodrygo Could Be Messi’s Heir”
Casemiro, who played alongside Rodrygo for three seasons at Real Madrid, has been vocal about his admiration for the forward. Speaking to Diario AS, he placed Rodrygo among the few players capable of succeeding Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.
“He’s a star. God gave him the gift of football. Rodrygo knows when to attack, defend, be aggressive, or vertical. One of the most complete players of his generation,” Casemiro said.
The Brazilian midfielder added that alongside Vinicius Jr., Mbappé, and Fede Valverde, Rodrygo belongs to the elite group ready to dominate world football over the next decade.
Intense Market Battle Looms
Rodrygo’s possible move to Anfield would mark a significant transfer coup for Liverpool, especially as Arsenal has also shown interest. For Manchester United, such a deal would not only strengthen a direct Premier League rival but also deprive them of a player Casemiro clearly believes is special.
With Liverpool actively restructuring their squad under Arne Slot, a move for Rodrygo could add both depth and star power to their front line and reignite one of England’s fiercest footballing rivalries.
