Arsenal open to loaning Gabriel Jesus and covering part of his salary amid interest from Flamengo and Palmeiras

Arsenal has opened the door for Gabriel Jesus to leave on loan during the current transfer window and is willing to share the striker’s salary to facilitate a move. The Brazilian forward is not in manager Mikel Arteta’s plans for the 2025/26 season following a difficult year hampered by injuries.
Flamengo, Palmeiras, and Brighton Show Interest
According to a report by RTI Esporte, the Gunners are prepared to cover a portion of Jesus’ weekly salary, which currently stands at £265,000 (approximately R$1.9 million). This financial flexibility could encourage potential suitors, including Brazilian giants Flamengo and Palmeiras, who have both expressed interest in bringing the 28-year-old back to South America.
However, Jesus is reportedly keen to remain in Europe, with Premier League side Brighton emerging as a serious candidate for his services.
Injury-Plagued Season and Squad Competition
Jesus endured a frustrating 2024/25 campaign, playing only 1,204 minutes across all competitions and scoring seven goals in 27 appearances. The forward struggled with recurring injuries and has since lost his guaranteed spot in Arteta’s starting XI.
Arsenal recently signed Viktor Gyökeres, who will wear the number 14 shirt next season. In addition, Kai Havertz is expected to continue being used as a central attacking option, pushing Jesus further down the pecking order.
Loan Preferred, But Sale Still on the Table
While Arsenal would ideally prefer to sell Gabriel Jesus outright, the club is open to a loan deal with salary sharing to generate interest and manage squad depth. According to Transfermarkt, Jesus is currently valued at €32 million (around R$209 million).
The final decision could hinge on formal offers arriving from either Europe or Brazil in the coming weeks, with Arsenal set to begin preseason preparations shortly.
