Manchester City receives millionaire bonus after defeating Juventus in the Club World Cup

Guardiola’s Manchester City showed a style that had not been seen for a long time and thrashed Juventus 5-2 in the last round of Group G of the Club World Cup . The result left the English team in first place in the group and also guaranteed the club a million-dollar prize after the result.
According to FIFA’s definition, each victory achieved by a team in the group stage yields US$2 million, which corresponds to R$5.5 million at the current exchange rate. In the case of City, the team occupies second place in the UEFA ranking, placing the English team with the maximum fixed fee paid for the competition.
In addition to these figures, the spot in the round of 16 further increased Manchester’s revenue at the Club World Cup. The spot in the knockout stages is worth an additional US$7.5 million (R$41 million). In other words, adding the fixed fee, plus the value of victories and the amount paid for qualifying, Guardiola’s City will go to the next phase with US$51.69 million, which corresponds to R$283 million.
