After Antonio Rudiger, David Alaba also suffers knee injury
A complicated end to the season for Real Madrid , both in terms of results and the medical report of Carlo Ancelotti’s team (still). On Tuesday morning, the Spanish club reported a partial tear of the external meniscus in Antonio Rudiger ‘s left knee and, this evening, the Merengues announced almost the same injury to Austrian David Alaba .
According to an official statement from the club, the left-hander suffered a rupture of the internal meniscus in his left knee and will undergo surgery in the next few hours, but Real Madrid believes he will be recovered in time to play in the Club World Cup .
The Austrian arrived at Real Madrid in 2021, coming on a ‘free transfer’ from Bayern Munich, and has been dogged by physical problems. This season he has played just 14 games, after 17 in the previous one, after suffering a rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee in December 2023.
