Tottenham want to sell Yves Bissouma this week and Fenerbahçe appear as a possible destination

Tottenham Hotspur are actively seeking to offload Yves Bissouma before the close of the current transfer window, with Fenerbahçe emerging as the leading candidate to secure the midfielder’s signature. Reports from England suggest Spurs are determined to move the Ivorian on, despite complications in earlier negotiations.

Spurs Ready to Part Ways

Bissouma, who joined Tottenham from Brighton & Hove Albion in 2022, has made close to 90 appearances for the North London club. He played a role in their 2024/25 UEFA Europa League triumph, but his long-term future under manager Ange Postecoglou appears uncertain.

Tottenham are now prepared to sell the 28-year-old, with Turkish giants Fenerbahçe reigniting talks after previously showing interest during the summer.

Why the Deal Fell Through Earlier

According to Goal, negotiations with both Fenerbahçe and Galatasaray initially stalled. One of the sticking points was Bissouma’s desire to apply for British citizenship, which would require him to remain in England for another year.

However, with Tottenham keen to trim their squad and raise funds, discussions with Fenerbahçe have reportedly been reopened.

Mourinho Factor and Turkish Interest

As reported by TBR Football, Fenerbahçe had explored signing Bissouma back in July, but then-coach José Mourinho prioritized other reinforcements. With Mourinho’s departure, the club’s board has returned to the idea of adding Bissouma to strengthen its midfield.

From Mali to North London: Bissouma’s Career Path

Bissouma began his career at Real Bamako in Mali before moving to Lille (2016–2018), where he broke through in European football. His performances earned him a Premier League move to Brighton, followed by his transfer to Tottenham.

Now, just three years after his arrival in North London, Spurs seem ready to cash in on the Ivorian, with Fenerbahçe once again leading the chase.
