Newcastle reject Liverpool’s £110m bid for Isak; Howe admits ‘lose-lose scenario’

Newcastle United have turned down a £110 million offer from Liverpool for striker Alexander Isak, according to Saudi outlet Arriyadiyah. The 25-year-old Swede, who has a contract until 2028, publicly accused the Magpies of “not keeping promises” on social media, sparking a crisis between player and club.

Howe confirms rejection and speaks of crisis

At a press conference, manager Eddie Howe confirmed the offer was refused and admitted the situation harms all sides.

“There’s been no change; it’s a lose-lose scenario. I don’t see a way to come out on top in any position,” Howe told reporters.

Possible return if no deal before deadline

The coach left the door open for reconciliation if no agreement is reached before the transfer window closes on September 1st.

“If he stays, the dressing room will welcome him back. The players feel the same way I do — Isak is a great player and a good person. I 100% want to see him back in a Newcastle shirt,” Howe stated.

Separate training and tensions behind the scenes

Currently, Isak is training apart from the group, but Howe insisted there are no personal problems:

“When we meet, the conversation is normal. There are always two sides to every story, and fans react to what they see on the field.”

Newcastle also defended itself, stressing there was never any agreement to sell and pointing to the striker’s long-term deal.
