Al-Ahli reportedly eyeing €45 million transfer for Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Exequiel Palacios

Al-Ahli has joined the race to sign Exequiel Palacios, one of Bayer Leverkusen’s most valuable midfielders. The Saudi Arabian giants are preparing a formal offer for the 26-year-old Argentine, whose market value is estimated at €40 million (R$256 million), according to Transfermarkt.
Saudi Bid Expected Soon
Reports from Turkish outlet Fanatik indicate that Al-Ahli is ready to invest heavily to secure Palacios and could table a bid in the coming days. The Saudi board considers the Argentine a marquee signing to strengthen their midfield.
Leverkusen’s Demands
Bayer Leverkusen, however, values Palacios at around €45 million (R$288 million) and is in no rush to sell. With the midfielder under contract until June 2028, the German club holds a strong negotiating position and has no plans to facilitate an exit.
Competition From Fenerbahçe
While Fenerbahçe has also shown interest, Al-Ahli is currently seen as the leading contender to land the player. The Saudi club previously attempted to sign Manuel Locatelli from Juventus and is determined to bring in a high-profile midfielder this window.
If successful, Palacios would join the wave of stars moving to the Saudi Pro League, adding both creativity and experience to Al-Ahli’s squad.
