Inter Milan’s Taremi linked with Nice after refusing Flamengo transfer

Iranian striker Mehdi Taremi could be on his way to Ligue 1 side Nice after rejecting an approach from Brazilian giants Flamengo, according to reports from the Italian press.

Flamengo had identified the 32-year-old as a key target for the remainder of the Brazilian season, but the former Porto forward has made it clear he intends to remain in European football. With Inter Milan leaving him out of their plans for the 2025/26 campaign, a transfer before the window closes appears inevitable.

Nice Leading the Race, Other Clubs Interested

French club Nice is reportedly in the market for a proven goalscorer and views Taremi as a strong candidate. The striker endured a disappointing spell at Inter, struggling for game time behind Lautaro Martínez and Marcus Thuram.

While Nice is currently the frontrunner, other European clubs have also shown interest. Fulham and Turkish side Beşiktaş have been linked, though no formal offers have been made. Taremi has also drawn attention from Brazilian club Botafogo.

Flamengo Turns to Alternative Targets

With Taremi out of reach, Flamengo is shifting focus to other attacking options. The Rio de Janeiro side is exploring a move for Fiorentina’s Lucas Beltrán, though the Argentine is also reportedly reluctant to leave Europe. River Plate, led by coach Marcelo Gallardo, is still hopeful of bringing Beltrán back to Argentina.

Another name on Flamengo’s radar is Roger Guedes, currently at Al-Rayyan in Qatar. The former Corinthians forward has also attracted interest from Grêmio, but a deal remains unlikely at this stage.

Taremi’s final destination could be decided within days, with Nice emerging as a potential lifeline for his European career.
