It has taken only two matches for Endrick to cement his status as Lyon’s new crown jewel. After a Man of the Match performance in the 2-1 victory over Brest, the Brazilian sensation took to social media to celebrate his rapid adaptation to Ligue 1.

From Madrid to Lyon: The Instant Impact

Following a frustrating spell with limited minutes at Real Madrid, Endrick’s loan move to Lyon is already paying dividends. After scoring on his debut, the 19-year-old earned his first start on Sunday, providing a crucial assist for fellow Brazilian Abner to secure the three points for Les Gones.

On Instagram, the new number 9 shared his joy, posing with the ‘Man of the Match’ trophy. “Congratulations to the whole group for this victory! Let’s go Lyon,” Endrick posted, further fueling the “Endrick-mania” that has gripped the French city.

Breaking Records Off the Pitch

The “Endrick Effect” is not limited to the Groupama Stadium turf. His announcement video on Christmas Eve shattered Lyon’s digital records, amassing nearly 15 million views in under 24 hours. To put that in perspective, the club’s previous record was a mere 2.9 million a clear indicator of the global spotlight the former Palmeiras star brings to Ligue 1.

“A Unique Player”: Paulo Fonseca’s Verdict

Despite the hype, Lyon manager Paulo Fonseca is keeping the youngster’s feet on the ground. While praising his match-winning ability, Fonseca noted that the striker is still reaching peak fitness.

“He did some good things, especially in individual plays. He’s a unique player,” Fonseca remarked. “But he needs to be more intense and consistent. Let’s not forget he has barely played this season and is only 19.”

Even the opposition couldn’t ignore the talent. Brest assistant coach Julien Lachuer admitted after the whistle: “Lyon has signed a player capable of making a real difference.”
