Real Madrid agrees to negotiate Éder Militão for €45 million after proposal from Saudi Arabia

Real Madrid have made their stance clear on Éder Militão’s future. The Spanish giants have reportedly turned down approaches from Saudi Arabia, making it known that any deal for the Brazilian defender will only happen for a minimum fee of €45 million (around R$221 million).
Saudi Pro League Makes a Move
According to Defensa Central, Saudi clubs whose names remain undisclosed recently contacted Real Madrid about signing Militão. However, club president Florentino Pérez was quick to reject the proposals, underlining that the 26-year-old is still a key part of Xabi Alonso’s plans.
The decision also comes despite Militão’s difficult past season, which was heavily affected by a serious injury.
Back from Injury and Fighting for a Place
After months on the sidelines, Militão has been working hard in preseason and reportedly impressed the coaching staff with his sharpness and determination. His goal is clear regain his starting spot in the heart of Madrid’s defense.
The competition is fierce. Antonio Rüdiger ended last season in great form, while young talent Dean Huijsen has been making waves after an outstanding loan spell at Bournemouth and an impressive Club World Cup run. The 19-year-old is even tipped as a favorite for the Golden Boy 2025 award.
Why Militão Still Matters
Huijsen’s rise brings more competition, but Militão’s qualities remain undeniable. Known for his exceptional reading of the game, aerial dominance, and defensive positioning, the ex-São Paulo star also has six years of experience with the Madrid culture an asset Xabi Alonso values highly.
The Xabi Alonso Era Debut
Militão’s first appearance under Alonso came during the Club World Cup, in a 4-0 victory over PSG. Playing 26 minutes, he didn’t have much time to shine but still showed glimpses of his reliability. While his match minutes were limited, his performances in training have reportedly planted a seed of doubt in Alonso’s mind about the starting lineup.
For now, Real Madrid’s message is firm: Éder Militão is not for sale unless a club meets their €45 million valuation.
