Former Real Madrid player Nico Paz keeps the door open for a return to the club after shining at Como

Former Real Madrid midfielder Nico Paz has not ruled out a future return to the Santiago Bernabéu after a stellar campaign with Como in Italy’s Serie A. The 20-year-old Argentine emerged as one of the league’s most promising young talents last season, directly contributing to 15 goals in 35 matches under the guidance of coach Cesc Fàbregas.

“You never know” about a return

In an interview with Touchline, Paz was asked about the possibility of rejoining Los Blancos. “Return to Real Madrid? You never know,” he said. “I’m focused on Como, which is where I need to be. I have no idea about the future I don’t even know what I’ll do tomorrow.”

Como’s firm stance complicates Madrid’s hopes

Real Madrid sold Paz to Como for €6 million last year, a move the club reportedly regrets. Following his rapid rise, Madrid explored the possibility of bringing him back during the last transfer window, but Como’s board moved swiftly to acquire 100% of the player’s economic rights, making any repurchase a costly affair.

Club officials in Italy are expected to demand a significant transfer fee, with Paz’s current market valuation estimated at €35 million. Florentino Pérez had tried to insert clauses easing a future return, but Como are unlikely to adopt a cooperative stance.

Rising star in European football

Since joining Como, Paz has become the creative heartbeat of the team, showcasing vision, passing precision and a knack for decisive contributions in the final third. His performances have not only boosted his profile but also cemented his status as one of the brightest prospects in European football.

Whether or not a Bernabéu return materialises, Real Madrid will continue to monitor his progress closely knowing that the price for reacquiring their former prodigy is climbing rapidly.
