Saudi Arabia eyes Real Madrid duo Alaba and Ceballos as summer transfer pressure intensifies

Saudi Arabian clubs have set their sights on David Alaba and Dani Ceballos, two players from Xabi Alonso’s Real Madrid squad, according to Marca. The approach comes amid an aggressive transfer campaign from the Middle East, with big-name targets across European football.
Alaba Out of Plans, Ceballos Considered a Market Opportunity
Sources in Spain suggest that Alaba, who is not part of Real Madrid’s main plans for the upcoming season, has nevertheless told the club he intends to see out the final year of his contract. The Austrian defender is valued at €6 million (about R$37 million).
Ceballos, meanwhile, is seen by Saudi clubs as a midfield reinforcement with resale potential. The Spaniard has a price tag of €10 million (around R$63 million). He has also expressed his desire to stay in Madrid, though if forced to leave, his preference would be a return to Real Betis.
Real Madrid Open to Talks if Price is Right
The Madrid board is reportedly open to negotiations for both players, but only if offers meet their valuation. August is shaping up to be decisive for Saudi Arabia’s transfer ambitions, as clubs push to lure players away from European football with lucrative salary packages.
Vinícius Jr Stays — For Now
While Alaba and Ceballos attract interest, Saudi Arabia’s biggest target remains Vinícius Jr. However, Real Madrid have ruled out his departure this summer. The Brazilian’s contract runs until 2027, and negotiations for a renewal are ongoing.
One stumbling block is the forward’s salary demand estimated at €30 million per season (over R$195 million) a figure that would surpass teammate Kylian Mbappé’s wages. Club president Florentino Pérez is reluctant to breach Real Madrid’s wage structure.
