Tottenham offer €40 million for Nico Paz, Como demand up to €70 million

Tottenham have made a €40 million offer to Como for Argentine midfielder Nico Paz, but the Serie A club has deemed the bid insufficient, demanding between €60 million and €70 million for the 20-year-old talent.
The London side accelerated negotiations after James Maddison suffered a serious knee injury a cruciate ligament rupture that will sideline him for several months. However, Como views Paz as a key figure in their 2025/26 project and is unwilling to part ways unless their valuation is met.
Paz, who enjoyed a standout 2024/25 campaign with six goals and four assists in 35 league appearances, has attracted interest from top European clubs thanks to his vision, physical presence, and ability to arrive in the box.
A Real Madrid academy graduate, he remains tied to the Spanish giants through clauses that allow them to match any accepted bid or receive 50% of a future transfer fee. This complicates talks and could increase competition.
Chelsea are also monitoring the situation and may step in should Como open the door to negotiations, potentially setting up a bidding war between the Premier League rivals.
