Portuguese giants eye the Moroccan playmaker as João Félix replacement; multiple clubs show interest

Portuguese powerhouse Benfica has set its sights on Real Madrid’s Brahim Díaz, hoping to secure the 25-year-old attacking midfielder on loan until the end of the season, according to reports from CNN Portugal.

The move is part of Benfica’s urgent push to fill the creative void left by João Félix, who recently joined Cristiano Ronaldo at Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia. The club believes Díaz, with his versatility and flair, is a natural fit to assume Félix’s role.

Benfica Seeks Closer Ties with Real Madrid

Benfica’s board is reportedly working to strengthen diplomatic and transfer relations with Real Madrid, which could prove pivotal in their pursuit of Díaz. However, competition for the player’s services is intense.

Other Clubs Also in the Race

In addition to Benfica, Fenerbahce, now managed by José Mourinho, Arsenal, Bayer Leverkusen, and Al-Nassr have all expressed interest in Díaz. But Real Madrid appears reluctant to let go easily.

According to SER Deportivos, both the club and manager Xabi Alonso view Brahim as a key part of their squad next season, particularly as a backup or alternative to Jude Bellingham in the attacking midfield role.

Lucrative Offer Rejected by Real Madrid

Spanish outlet Fichajes recently reported that Real Madrid rejected a €65 million offer from Saudi Arabian clubs for Brahim Díaz, signaling the club’s confidence in his value and future role.

Strong Season Under His Belt

Last season, Díaz featured in 56 matches for Real Madrid 23 as a starter registering six goals and seven assists, showcasing his growing importance in the squad.

Despite intense interest from abroad, the decision now hinges on Real Madrid’s willingness to part with a player seen as a rising internal asset. Benfica’s proposal for a loan deal may serve as a short-term compromise but only if Madrid can be convinced.
