Angel Di Maria’s parents
Angel Di Maria’s father
Miguel Di Maria is the father of Argentine professional footballer Angel Di Maria. He is married to Diana Hernandez. He had three children, two daughters and a son with Diana. He and his wife used to work in a local coal yard. Ángel’s elder Miguel was also a decent footballer, but his dream of becoming a River Plate player was dashed after he suffered a career-ending knee injury before making his debut. Instead, he worked in a coal yard for 16 years, earning a meager wage. Sharing a room with his two sisters, Miguel’s son Ángel soon realized that football was his chance to have a better life (Lionel Messi was also raised in Rosario, although his middle-class upbringing paved the way for a more gilded childhood).
Angel Di Maria’s mother
Diana Hernández, Ángel Di María’s mother, is the main person responsible for her son’s involvement in football.
Her husband was afraid of choosing football as a career for his son, considering his failure in the sport. Knowing that her husband was still passionate about football, she pushed him to accept what was coming.
She decided that her first son, little Ángel, should play football after a doctor suggested that he play a sport like martial arts or football to help control his youthful hyperactivity.
After her wife, Jorgelina Cardoso, Diana Hernández remains her son’s second biggest fan.
Angel Di Maria’s siblings
Ángel Di María has two younger siblings, Evelyn Di María Hernández and Vanesa Di María Hernández. In the past, Evelyn and Vanesa played crucial roles in helping their parents and their older brother, Ángel, with work at the local coal yard.

Jorgelina Cardoso was born in Rosario, Argentina in 1982. She met Angel Di Maria in the same neighborhood and they soon started dating. Interestingly, the Argentine superstar is five years younger than Jorgelina. After years of dating, the star couple tied the knot in an intimate ceremony in 2011. Similar to Di Maria, her 41-year-old partner shares a deep connection with sports. Several sources suggest that Jorgelina works as a sports agent. Furthermore, she actively challenges gender inequality in sports.
Angel Di Maria’s children
Di Maria has two daughters – Mia Di Maria and Pia Di Maria. Mia was born in 2013. Di Maria and Jorgelina welcomed Pia in 2017.
Jorgelina accompanied Di Maria to different cities during his illustrious spells with various European clubs. However, the reigning world champion’s chapter in Manchester did not go down well with the family. Angel Di Maria
