United’s Garnacho celebrates Rashford’s departure to Barcelona and seeks to follow in his footsteps

Alejandro Garnacho has expressed support for Marcus Rashford’s transfer to Barcelona and could soon follow him out of Manchester United. The Argentine winger celebrated Rashford’s move on Instagram, fueling speculation about his own future amid tensions with new head coach Ruben Amorim.
Garnacho Applauds Rashford’s Barcelona Switch
After news broke of Rashford’s agreement with the Catalan giants, Garnacho left a celebratory comment under the former No. 10’s social media post. The gesture was seen by many as more than just a farewell it hinted at Garnacho’s own growing frustration at Old Trafford.
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Garnacho is “prepared to leave Man United this summer,” joining a long list of players reportedly unsettled under Amorim’s regime.

Tactical Misfit and Dressing Room Tensions
Garnacho had been a regular under former manager Erik ten Hag, but his role diminished significantly following Amorim’s arrival. Despite initially remaining a starter, the winger soon found himself sidelined due to poor form and a lack of tactical chemistry.
The turning point came in the Europa League final, when Garnacho was subbed on for just 20 minutes as United fell to Tottenham Hotspur. Feeling underutilized, the 20-year-old reportedly decided it was time for a fresh start.
Tottenham Lead Race as Napoli Pull Back
Napoli had pursued Garnacho for months, but it’s Tottenham who now appear to be leading the race. With Sir Jim Ratcliffe lowering the forward’s price tag, Spurs are said to be seriously considering a summer bid.
Garnacho is viewed as a long-term investment, and Spurs are looking to strengthen their attack after a season of transition under manager Ange Postecoglou.
