Chelsea decides to sell Nkunku and another big name to complete the purchase of Garnacho, from Manchester United

Chelsea are preparing a bold summer move for Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho, with the club reportedly ready to offload Christopher Nkunku and Nicolas Jackson to finance the deal, according to Football Transfers.
Fresh off their Club World Cup triumph, the Blues are moving aggressively in the transfer market and see Garnacho as a key target to reinforce new manager Enzo Maresca’s attacking options.
Garnacho Keen to Leave Old Trafford
The 20-year-old Argentine forward has grown disillusioned at Manchester United, particularly under current boss Rúben Amorim, and is open to a move away from Old Trafford this summer. His situation has caught the attention of Chelsea, who are reportedly preparing an official offer.
Garnacho has also attracted interest from clubs in Spain and Italy, but Chelsea’s project under Maresca combined with their recent global success has positioned them as strong contenders for his signature.
Financial Fair Play: Chelsea to Sell Nkunku and Jackson
To comply with UEFA’s Financial Fair Play (FFP) regulations, Chelsea have internally decided to raise funds by selling two significant assets: Nkunku and Jackson.
Nkunku, who struggled with injuries during the 2024/25 season, remains highly regarded in Europe and could command a solid transfer fee. Meanwhile, Nicolas Jackson has reportedly expressed interest in joining Manchester United, which could facilitate a potential player-plus-cash deal for Garnacho.
United’s Asking Price and Salary Demands
According to British media reports, Manchester United value Garnacho at a minimum of £40 million (€47M). In addition to the transfer fee, Garnacho’s wage demands are expected to significantly raise the total cost of the operation.
Still, Chelsea remain undeterred and view Garnacho as a long-term investment with high upside, given his age, Premier League experience, and potential resale value.
