Rodrygo is facing a crisis at Real Madrid: the Brazilian wants to leave, but Florentino Pérez is asking for €112 million

Brazilian forward Rodrygo Goes is reportedly looking to leave Real Madrid, but his departure is being complicated by both a €112 million price tag set by club president Florentino Pérez and issues surrounding his representation. According to Spanish outlet Marca, the player feels marginalized in the squad and is actively seeking a move elsewhere.

Rodrygo, 23, is said to view himself as a secondary figure in the current squad and believes a fresh challenge outside Spain could reignite his career. However, his attempts to engineer a transfer face major hurdles.

Representation Issues and High Asking Price

Internally, Rodrygo’s situation is described as fragile. He currently lacks a professional agent, with his father who reportedly lacks experience in high-level football negotiations acting as his intermediary. The absence of a seasoned representative is reportedly hindering talks with clubs across Europe.

On top of this, Florentino Pérez has slapped a €112 million price tag (converted from R$652 million) on the forward, a valuation that interested clubs consider excessive, especially given Rodrygo’s recent dip in form. The winger has gone a significant spell without scoring, weakening his leverage in negotiations.

Premier League Clubs Monitoring the Situation

Arsenal and Liverpool are the two clubs most closely linked with Rodrygo. The Gunners have reportedly cooled their interest following the signing of Viktor Gyökeres, though Rodrygo remains admired at the Emirates.

Meanwhile, Liverpool sees the Real Madrid No. 11 as a potential replacement for Luis Díaz, whose departure could leave a gap on the left wing. However, insiders suggest that Díaz remains the priority target for the Merseyside club, especially with Bayern Munich rejecting multiple approaches for the Colombian.

Madrid Exit Unlikely in the Short Term

Given the high asking price, the lack of proper representation, and his uncertain form, Rodrygo’s exit from the Santiago Bernabéu appears increasingly unlikely this summer. Unless conditions change significantly, the forward is expected to remain in Spain for the 2025/26 season, likely as a rotation option under new head coach Xabi Alonso.

Rodrygo’s Record at Real Madrid

Rodrygo joined Real Madrid from Santos in 2019, and since then, has amassed 270 appearances, scoring 68 goals and providing 51 assists in all competitions.

He has been especially prolific in the UEFA Champions League, where he has played 64 matches, scored 25 goals, and assisted 14 times, helping Real Madrid to two titles in the competition during his tenure.
