Veteran forward Thomas Müller has made it clear he will not retire following his departure from Bayern Munich, instead planning to extend his playing career in Major League Soccer (MLS). According to Sky Sport Germany reporters Florian Plettenberg and Torben Hoffmann, the 35-year-old is currently in talks with Los Angeles FC, among other potential suitors.

Müller’s decision ends speculation over a potential retirement or a move to Brazilian football, with Grêmio and Internacional previously reported as interested clubs. The 2014 World Cup winner has also drawn attention from FC Cincinnati, Galatasaray, and Fiorentina.

MLS Move Gains Momentum

Sources indicate at least one other MLS club is interested in signing the German icon, though their identity remains undisclosed. Talks are ongoing, and Müller’s final match as a Bayern Munich player could be officially confirmed within the next 7 to 10 days, as per Sky Sport.

Müller, who has spent his entire professional career at Bayern Munich since being promoted in 2008, is now preparing for his first venture outside of Europe, should a deal in the United States be finalized.

Müller’s Legacy at Bayern

During the 2024/25 season, Müller made 49 appearances across all competitions, contributing 8 goals and 7 assists. He also featured prominently in the Club World Cup, scoring 2 goals and providing 1 assist across five matches.
